Telehealth therapy allows you to meet with me through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform from the comfort and privacy of your own home. All you need is a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. Sessions are conducted just like in-person appointments, with the same level of connection, care, and confidentiality. Many people find telehealth to be convenient, flexible, and equally effective as meeting in an office.
Yes. I currently accept Geisinger Health Plan, Highmark, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Optum Behavioral Health. I also accept self-pay clients.
If you have an insurance plan with out-of-network benefits, I can provide a detailed receipt (called a superbill) that you may submit for potential reimbursement. I encourage clients to contact their insurance provider directly to confirm mental health coverage and any copay or deductible responsibilities.
Most sessions are about 55 minutes, which allows enough time to explore what’s happening in your life and make meaningful progress each week. Some sessions may be slightly shorter or longer depending on your individual needs or scheduling preferences.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin laying the foundation for our work together. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to get out of it, and any questions or concerns you may have. During this session, I will also review my practice policies and procedures, communication guidelines, and consent for treatment so you have a clear understanding of how therapy works and what to expect. I will ask about your background, current stressors, and goals, but the pace and depth of what you choose to share are entirely up to you. The main focus of the first session is to help you feel comfortable, informed, and supported as we begin this process together.
No. There is no long-term commitment required. Some people come to therapy for a few sessions to focus on a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term work. We will collaborate to find a pace and plan that feels right for you. You can choose to continue or pause therapy at any time based on your needs and progress.
That’s a common and completely valid concern. Every therapist is different, and it’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and paced according to your comfort. We can talk openly about your past experiences with therapy and what did or didn’t feel helpful, so we can create a process that fits you. Feeling safe and understood is the foundation of effective therapy, and I want you to have that experience here.
