About Me
I’m a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist who has dedicated my career to helping individuals find clarity, strength, and healing. After earning my undergraduate degree from Bloomsburg University and my Master of Social Work from Marywood University, I began serving communities across Central Pennsylvania in a variety of roles.
Over the past decade, I’ve worked in adolescent residential programs, trauma-focused care, community mental health, and behavioral health services within medical offices. These experiences have shaped my understanding of the many ways people struggle and heal. I’ve learned that no matter what someone is facing, there is always potential for resilience and growth. My purpose has always been simple – to support healing and reduce suffering with compassion and respect.
My Mission
I founded Mid River Counseling with a clear purpose: to provide therapy that feels personal, compassionate, and effective. My mission is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change.
Therapy, to me, is not about labels or diagnoses – it’s about connection, progress, and meeting you where you are. Every person’s path is unique, and my goal is to make the process of getting help feel straightforward, comfortable, and centered on what truly matters to you.
My Approach
My work is grounded in a person-centered, strengths-based approach shaped by my training as a social worker. I believe that you already possess the strengths and insight needed for growth; my role is to help you recognize and build upon them.
I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based approach that encourages openness to experience, mindful presence, and purposeful action. Together, we create space for difficult emotions while identifying steps that move you toward a rich, full, and meaningful life – one guided by your own values.
What to Expect
When you begin therapy with me, you can expect a compassionate, down-to-earth environment where you are truly heard and understood. My goal is to help you make sense of your experiences, not to define you by them.
I believe people are not helped by being seen as disordered – they are helped by being understood and supported. Our work together is collaborative and paced according to your comfort level. Each session focuses on what matters most to you, offering practical tools and strategies you can use to move closer to the life you want.
You are not alone in your suffering. Your thoughts and emotions – even the difficult ones – are important parts of who you are, but they do not define you. Through therapy, we’ll work to uncover meaning, develop resilience, and create the space for healing to take root.
Beyond the Therapy Room
I’m grateful to live and serve here in Central Pennsylvania, where community and connection mean everything to me. Outside of my practice, I’m a husband, father, and active member of the local community.
When I’m not providing therapy, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, staying active with my kids, or participating in local events. I try to approach each day with gratitude, even when I fall short. These experiences remind me that growth is a lifelong process—and that compassion, patience, and understanding are essential both in life and in therapy.
It’s this same perspective that I bring to my work at Mid River Counseling: meeting each person with empathy, respect, and the belief that meaningful change is always possible.
